MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517074943 A) filed by Interdigital Patent Holdings, Inc., Wilmington, U.S.A., on Aug. 6, for 'reducing the overhead of beam reporting by exploiting the correlation between beams.'
Inventor(s) include Herath, Prasanna; Kwak, Young, Woo; Tooher, Patrick, J; Lee, Moon-Il; Narayanan Thangaraj, Yugeswar, Deenoo; Mostafa, Ahmed; Khan Beigi, Nazli; Lutchoomun, Tejaswinee; and Ur Rehman, Haseeb.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Systems, methods, devices, and instrumentalities are described herein related to spatial and temporal domain compression associated with reducing beam reporting overhead. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may determine assistance information and report the assistance information to a network node. Based on reporting (e.g., after reporting) the assistance information to the network node, configuration information may be received. The configuration information may indicate a set of reference signal (RS) resources. Measurements of the set of RS resources may be performed. The WTRU may determine that sparse reporting is activated based on the measurements of the set of the RS resources. Based on the sparse reporting being activated, a subset of RS resources may be selected for measurement reporting from the set of RS resources. The selected subset of RS resources and measurements associated with the subset of RS resources may be reported."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 07, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/014837.
