MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (201941053041 A) filed by The General Manager, Cordite Factory Aruvankadu, The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 20, 2019, for 'recycling of dried bmcs undersize, oversize & defective propellant grains.'
Inventor(s) include E. Manoj Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention is in the field of propellant manufature. In particular, the undersize, oversize and defective propellant grains of Bi-Modular Charge System (BMCS) are soaked in solvent mixture and reprocessing the same to get the desirable propellant grains. The invention is useful for minimizing the wastage and enhancing the productivity. This invention will eliminate the task of disposal by burning and effective utilization of the undersize, oversize and defective propellant grains in production."
