MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004054 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'rebar cage supporting device for pillar construction.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rebar cage supporting device for pillar construction, comprises a ring 1 configured with a set platforms 2 developed to be accommodate around a central bar configured with rebar cage, a laser acuity sensor positioned on the ring 1 for detecting diameter of central bar, a motorized iris lid 3 embedded within ring 1 to close for gripping the central bar within the ring 1 in a secured manner, a camera 4 mounted on the ring 1 for capturing multiple images of the rebar cage, a motorized clamp 5 configured with the platforms 2 for gripping side bars, an extendable flap 8 configured with the ring 1 via a circular motorized slider 9 for adhering on the wall via a set of suction cups 10 equipped with flap 8, and a speaker mounted on the ring 1 for notifying the user to fill concrete mixture within the rebar cage."
