MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020026 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'rebar bending assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Jasvir Singh Rana; Dhruv Joshi; Dipika Sharma; and Vandana Kanyal.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A rebar bending assistive device, comprising a housing 1, a touch enabled screen 2 mounted on the housing 1 for entering command regarding an angle, a camera 3 mounted on the housing 1 for capturing images of the surface, a pair of telescopically operated links 4 configured with the housing 1 assembled with a circular disc 5 via an universal joint 6, multiple pins 7 mounted on a circular plate 8 configured with the circular disc 5 to facilitate gripping of the rebar, an electromagnetic spring 9 configured between each of the pins 7 for translating the pins 7, and a circular slider 10 configured between each of the plate 8 and disc 5 to rotate in opposite direction in virtue of bending the rebar."
