MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514027852 A) filed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on March 25, for 'rear structure of electric vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Yamazaki Shota.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[Problem to be Solved] To enhance rigidity of a floor part used for installing a spare tire and to enhance attachment rigidity of the spare tire. [Solution] In a rear structure of an electric vehicle, the floor part positioned on a rearward side of a battery pack is provided with a tire storage part 12 capable of storing the spare tire therein; the tire storage part 12 has a concave shape recessed downward and includes a bottom part and outer side wall parts 18 and 19 extending upward from both of two vehicle-width side ends of the bottom part; the bottom part is provided with a central bead part 16 extending along a width direction; reinforcement members 40 and 50 joined to the bottom part and the outer side wall parts are joined to outside parts of the central bead part 16; and the outside parts of the central bead part 16 are positioned between front ends and rear ends of the reinforcement members 40 and 50."
