MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202321086606 A) filed by Tata Consultancy Services Limited, Maharashtra, on Dec. 18, 2023, for 'real-time monitoring and controlling of industrial instruments using asset administration shell.'
Inventor(s) include Kaluvan, Suresh; Sivaprakasam, Boobalan; Renganathan, Dhakshinamoorthy; and Kalidoss, Thanga Jawahar.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In the midst of digital transformative landscape, Asset Administration Shell (AAS), an Industry 4.0 component, is gaining attention as a standardized, virtual representation of assets. AAS enhances interoperability, promoting seamless communication between heterogeneous systems and devices. A notable challenge in this is integration and real-time control of complex physical systems. Present disclosure provides systems and methods for integrating and controlling industrial instruments (such as linear actuators) in real-time using the AAS. A server is implemented in Python that provides an interface for Eclipse BaSyx data bridge to interact with the control and measurement parameters of industrial instruments. The integration of the components allows for the mapping of the control parameters and measured distances as server nodes in the AAS, thereby creating a comprehensive and real-time digital twin of the controlled industrial instruments."
