MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521131051 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 23, 2025, for 'real-time iot-based fingertip ppg system for cuffless blood pressure estimation.'
Inventor(s) include Shyamala Subramanian; and Sashikala Mishra.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a real-time IoT-based fingertip PPG system (100) for cuffless blood pressure estimation. The system (100) comprises a fingertip PPG sensor (101) configured to acquire photoplethysmography signals, an ESP8266 microcontroller (102) with a Wi-Fi module (103) for wireless data transmission, a cloud platform (104) hosting a deep learning model (105), a blood pressure estimation module (106), and a result display module (107) implemented through a mobile application. The invention also provides a computer-implemented method (200) comprising acquiring PPG signals (201), transmitting the signals to the cloud (202), performing cloud-based processing and deep learning inference (203), integrating user demographic data (204), estimating systolic and diastolic blood pressure (205), and displaying the results in real time (206). The invention enables continuous, non-invasive, and cost-effective blood pressure monitoring suitable for clinical and home healthcare environments."
