MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547088231 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on Sept. 16, for 'reader-based attachment procedure for passive terminal device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Various techniques are provided for a method that may include receiving, by a terminal device from a network device, configuration information for the terminal device to transmit to or receive signals from at least one passive terminal device, wherein the configuration information configures the terminal device to perform at least one of transmit a signal to the at least one passive terminal device according to the configuration information, and receive, from the at least one passive terminal device, at least one signal each responsive to reception of the transmitted signal received at the at least one passive terminal device, and determining an association between the at least one passive terminal device and the terminal device based on received signal strength information of the at least one signal received at the terminal device."
