MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641041615 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Krishnankoil, Tamil Nadu, on April 1, for 'raw sea food pre- processing module with integral water cleaning facility and utilities deck.'

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a compact and mobile seafood pre-processing module (1) for hygienic handling and efficient preparation of seafood in fish markets, coastal areas, and small vessels. The system is fabricated using corrosion-resistant stainless steel. It features a processing table (13) for cleaning, descaling, degutting, 10 trimming and portion cutting the raw seafood. The pre - processing module (1) has a water storage deck (3), pump-assisted water supply through a water pump (9), and a water spout (10) for washing operations. The sink hole (12) ensures proper drainage of used water to the wastewater collecting deck (11), while a separate waste collecting deck (4) manages solid residues such as scales and guts. The module also includes 15 a processed food storage tray (5) for temporary holding of cleaned seafood. Front and rear closing doors (6, 7) provide protection and controlled access to internal components. Wheels (2) with a locking mechanism enable mobility and stable operation. The sitting table (8) is stored within the module when not in use to ensure compact design and is deployed for operator convenience during processing tasks."
