MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202537100993 A) filed by Phenomenex, Inc., Torrance, U.S.A., on Oct. 18, 2025, for 'rapid glycan sample preparation methods, system and kits.'
Inventor(s) include Masigol, Mohammadali; Chamanian, Mastooreh; Zhao, Jianli; and Thakar, Mihir Mahendrabhai.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed are methods, systems and kits for the separation and recovery of glycans from a glycosylated substrate. Magnetic particles are incorporated in a sample containing the glycosylated substrate. The magnetic particles are utilized to efficiently mix the sample through various steps of the separation and recovery workflow. The magnetic particles are surface 5 functionalized so as to attach released glycans on the surface of the particles. Disclosed systems include a device that is capable of generating an electromagnetic field, wherein the samples containing the magnetic particles are placed for processing."
