MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441074670 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Oct. 3, 2024, for 'radome installation device.'
Inventor(s) include Ashok Oommen George.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates generally to aircraft technology and more specifically to a device for installing a radome on an aircraft to optimize its performance and ensure structural integrity. The radome installation device that is the subject matter ofinvention where in the said radome (5) traverses (17) a pre-defined path as in the channel (15) provided in a slider assembly (25) of the device. This path ensures that as the radome (5) approaches the frame (21) of the nose, it lifts the radome (5) above the radar and gradually drops it down before the pins (19) of the radome (5) to engage with the holes on the frame (21)."
