MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010581 A) filed by Chairman, Defence Research & Development Organisation, New Delhi, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'radiological water purification kit (rwpk) and a method of fabrication thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Kumar, Rajesh; Patidar, Deepesh; Vasistha, Prashant; Mishra, Sanjit Kumar; and Jat, Shankar Lal.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a radiological water purification kit (RWPK) for purifying contaminated water and a method of fabrication thereof. More particularly, the present invention provides a kit comprising a hollow-ultrafiltration (HF-UF) membrane filter, pouch, nozzle and adsorption material (AM) for the removal of contaminants such as toxic metal ions, radionuclides, microbes, turbidity, TDS, colour and odour. The present invention further provides a method of purifying water through said kit. The kit is easy to operate and carry, is foldable, lightweight, portable and works without the cumbersome need of electricity and pump. The kit capacitates water up to 500 ml for purification."
