MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441038215 A) filed by Renesas Electronics Corporation, Tokyo, on May 15, 2024, for 'radar system and method of calibrating the radar system.'
Inventor(s) include Subramanian TR; Rakesh Kumar; and Apu Sivadas.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A radar system operative on the principles of Doppler Division Multiple Access (DDMA) comprising a plurality of phase shifters operative to provide a phase shift according to a phase code, each phase shifter in the plurality of phase shifter exhibiting a phase shifter characteristic of phase angle versus the phase codes, over a range of phase codes, the plurality of phase shifters are coupled to corresponding plurality of antennas, the plurality of phase shifter configured to receive a radar signal in a normal mode of operation to provide corresponding plurality of phase shifted radar signals for transmission over the plurality of antennas and the plurality of phase shifters are configured receive a test signal in a calibration mode of operation to provide a phase shifted test signal, and a test signal generator configured to generating a test signal for determining the phase shifter characteristic, wherein the test signal is a phase modulated IF (intermediate frequency) tone with no information carried on the envelop of the test signal."
