Inventor(s) include Dr. Ashwin Mali; Mr. Akshay Khandke; Dr. Atmaram Pawar; Dr. L. Satyanarayan; and Mr. Shubham Kakade.
The application for the patent was published on July 11, under issue no. 28/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising transferosomes encapsulating quercetin, incorporated into an emulgel matrix comprising thuja oil. The composition is designed to enhance percutaneous absorption through the synergistic action of ultra-deformable vesicles and an emulgel base. The transferosomes are prepared via ethanol injection technique, and are uniformly dispersed in the emulgel containing appropriate gelling agents, surfactants, and penetration enhancers. The formulation exhibits improved entrapment efficiency and deformability index, thereby providing enhanced therapeutic efficacy over conventional dosage forms. The invention further discloses methods of preparation as well as characterization parameters. The formulation is applicable for lipophilic, hydrophilic, or amphiphilic actives, enabling improved bioavailability and patient compliance."
