MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541126609 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 14, 2025, for 'quantum machine learning system for chronic kidney disease detection.'
Inventor(s) include Kathiravan Srinivasan; and Shreya Girish Savadatti.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a quantum machine learning system for chronic kidney disease detection. The system includes a data input module configured to receive clinical data including biochemical markers, a quantum feature mapping module configured to encode clinical features into quantum states using quantum feature maps, a quantum kernel computation module configured to compute quantum kernel matrices by calculating pairwise similarity measurements between quantum state vectors, and a classifier configured to perform chronic kidney disease classification using the quantum kernel matrices. The quantum feature mapping module includes a custom optimized quantum feature map with parameterized quantum circuits having controlled rotation gates and multiple repetition layers. The system further includes a data preprocessing module configured to normalize clinical data and handle missing values, a feature selection module using regularization, and a sparse autoencoder module for minority class augmentation."
