MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123294 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 7, 2025, for 'quad-band metamaterial antenna with open loop resonators.'

Inventor(s) include Namya; Swarndeep Khatri; and Sumit Kumar Jindal.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a quad-band metamaterial antenna comprising an F-shaped radiating element on a dielectric substrate, having a vertical element with horizontal arms extending from upper and middle portions, first and second Open Loop Resonators (OLRs) positioned to electromagnetically couple with the F shaped radiating element, and a microstrip feed line connected to the vertical element's lower portion. The antenna resonates at four frequency bands: 2.45 GHz, 3.52 GHz, 4.67 GHz, and 6.05 GHz. Electromagnetic coupling between the OLRs and F-shaped radiating element generates additional resonance frequencies at 3.52 GHz and 4.67 GHz while maintaining original resonance frequencies at 2.45 GHz and 6.05 GHz."
