MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124384 A) filed by Vishnu Institute Of Technology, Kovvada, Andhra Pradesh, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'qr-based iot-enabled smart medical dispensing system.'

Inventor(s) include G Srilakshmi; Y Srinivas; Valavala Venkata Narasimha; Tsavatapalli Venkata Sivasankar Varaprasad; Polupalli Gopi Chand; Routhu Charan Sai; and Mohammed Lubna Tahseen.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a QR-based smart medical dispensing system that automates prescription authentication and dosage delivery through IoT-enabled control and stepper motor-driven mechanisms. A web application generates encrypted QR codes containing patient-specific medication data, which are scanned by a camera module connected to a Raspberry Pi microcontroller. The decoded information is validated and converted into motor-control signals that actuate one or more stepper motors to dispense precise quantities of medicine from designated compartments. The system includes remote monitoring, automated logging, and error-handling features, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and secure workflow integration with clinical or telemedicine environments. The invention significantly reduces manual dispensing errors and provides a scalable, low-cost solution for modern healthcare facilities."
