MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517049529 A) filed by The Trustees Of Princeton University, Princeton, U.S.A., on May 22, for 'proximity-based labeling of sialylated glycoproteins.'

Inventor(s) include Knutson, Steven, Douglas; Seath, Ciaran, Paul; Meyer, Claudio, Flavio; and Macmillan, David, W. C.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Systems and methods are described herein enabling the profiling of local microenvironments across the sialylated proteome via proximity labeling. In one aspect, conjugates are described herein having composition and electronic structure for generating reactive labeling intermediates in microenvironments of sialylated cell-surface glycoproteins. In some embodiments, a conjugate comprises a transition metal catalyst coupled to a cell surface glycoprotein. As described further herein, the transition metal catalyst can be coupled to the glycoprotein via a derivatized sialic acid linker."

The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 26, 2023, under International application No.PCT/US2023/077910.
