MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514032636 A) filed by Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.; and Suzuki Motor Corporation, Mie, Japan, on April 2, for 'protector and protector-equipped wire harness.'

Inventor(s) include Suzuki, Masao; Hattori, Hideki; Ehara, Naoya; Mochizuki, Tamaki; Ikeya, Toshinori; Koori, Yashinori; and Takayama, Rui.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An object is to downsize a protector while a cutting margin of a tie band is protected. A protector includes: a protector body 32 including a fixing plate part 40 disposed along a wire harness; a head part housing part 41 including a housing space 45 of housing a head part 62 of a tie band 60; and a cutting margin protection part 50 protecting a cutting margin 66a of a band part 66 of the tie band. The head part housing part includes an inner opening 43h opened to an inner side of the fixing plate part and an outer opening 44h opened to an outer side of the fixing plate part, and positions the head part in the housing space in a thickness direction of the fixing plate part. The cutting margin protection part 50 includes a pair of protection walls 52 extending to the outer side of the fixing plate part from the outer opening."
