MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517020658 A) filed by Omron Healthcare Co. Ltd., Kyoto, Japan, on March 7, for 'protection circuit and charging device.'

Inventor(s) include Abe Kosuke; and Munehira Shuhei.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention ensures safety against leakage current to a human body with a simple configuration. This protection circuit connects: a contact positive electrode terminal a first contact negative electrode terminal and a second contact negative electrode terminal that are exposed to the outside in a connector part which is connected to a device comprising a secondary battery; and a ground terminal and a positive electrode terminal provided to a power output unit that outputs power to be supplied to the secondary battery through the contact positive electrode terminal the first contact negative electrode terminal and the second contact negative electrode terminal. The protection circuit is characterized by comprising: a p MOSFET connected between the contact positive electrode terminal and the positive electrode terminal; a first electric line connecting the contact positive electrode terminal and the drain terminal of the p MOSFET; a second electric line connecting the positive electrode terminal and the source terminal of the p MOSFET; a third electric line connecting the second electric line and the first contact negative electrode terminal through a resistor; a fourth electric line by which the gate terminal of the p MOSFET is connected between the resistor and the first contact negative electrode terminal on the third electric line; and a fifth electric line connecting the second contact terminal and the ground terminal."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/041815.
