According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a system and method for multi-granular facial emotion recognition with physiological authenticity assessment. The system processes facial image data to extract high-resolution landmark features and classify emotional states using machine learning techniques. In addition to basic emotion classification, the system quantifies emotional intensity and evaluates authenticity using physiological markers including Duchenne indicators and micro-expression analysis. The system computes an authenticity score to distinguish genuine, posed, and masked expressions. Real-time performance is achieved through optimized processing techniques, enabling high frame-rate analysis. The system further provides explainable outputs including confidence scores, visual overlays, and discrepancy alerts. The invention offers an advanced, scalable, and reliable solution for applications including mental health monitoring, security screening, education, and adaptive human-computer interaction."
