MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202544096420 A) filed by Canon Kabushiki Kaisha, Tokyo, on Oct. 7, 2025, for 'process unit and image forming apparatus.'
Inventor(s) include Mitsuhiro Sato; and Hiroyuki Munetsugu.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A process unit (20) includes a rotatable image bearing member (21), a charging roller (22), and a brush unit (40) including (i) a brush (41) including (i-1) a plate-shaped brush substrate (41b, 41c) and (i-2) brush bristles (41a) protruding from the brush substrate (41b, 41c), (ii) a holding member (42) configured to hold the brush substrate (41b, 41c) and regulate a position of the brush substrate (41b, 41c), and (iii) a conduction member (50) through which a voltage is applied to the brush (41), wherein the conduction member (50) includes a contacting portion (50c) configured to contact the brush substrate (41b, 41c), and is configured such that a direction in which the contacting portion (50c) applies a force to the brush substrate (41b, 41c) intersects with a thickness direction of the brush substrate (41b, 41c)."
