MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065113 A) filed by Basf Se, Ludwigshafen Am Rhein, Germany, on July 8, for 'process for producing superabsorbents.'

Inventor(s) include Peterson, Monte Alan; and Adey, Vernon Lynn.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for continuous production of superabsorbents, in which superabsorbent particles are coated by spray application of a surface postcrosslinker solution, the coated superabsorbent particles undergo thermal surface-postcrosslinking in a contact dryer 1, the thermally surface-postcrosslinked superabsorbent particles are cooled in a contact dryer 2, and a particulate solid is metered into the product stream between contact dryer 1 and contact dryer 2."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 06, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/084414.
