MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517098544 A) filed by Innovheart S. R. L., Milano, Italy, on Oct. 13, for 'procedure, tools and crimping tool for crimping an implantable device.'
Inventor(s) include Righini, Giovanni; Bresciano, Enrico; and Pane, Gianluca.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A set of instruments for crimping a support structure (50) of a heart valve, comprising a first crown (56) and a second crown ( 58 ), comprises : - at least one instrument (61, 91) comprising a handle (62, 92) which terminates at one end as a cylindrical body (64, 94), on the lateral surface (66, 96) of which there are provided seats (68, 98) for receiving therein the front crown (56) of the support structure, and a cap (74, 104) which can slide on the cylindrical body (64, 94) in order to block the first crown there, - at least one crimping ring (72, 102) for crimping the second crown (58)."
