MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202637043139 A) filed by Lesaffre Et Compagnie, Paris, on April 4, for 'probiotic bacillus subtilis bacteria for use in the prevention and treatment of chronic low-grade inflammation.'
Inventor(s) include Mourey, Florian; Crinier, Adeline; and Rodriguez, Bertrand.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a strain of Bacillus subtilis, in particular the CU1 (CNCM I-2745) strain of Bacillus subtilis, or cells obtained by culturing the strain, or a composition comprising the strain or the cells, wherein the composition is preferably a functional food or a food supplement for use in preventing, reducing and/or treating low-grade inflammation, in particular in healthy elderly individuals."
The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 04, 2024, under International application No.PCT/FR2024/051309.
