The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are: a printing apparatus that can suppress damage to a printing plate precursor used for printing and maintain the accuracy of an image obtained on a surface to be printed even after repeated printing; and a method for manufacturing printed matter. The present invention comprises: a printing blanket having a printing surface that deforms according to the shape of the surface to be printed; a printing plate precursor including a placement surface on which an ink is placed; a printing plate precursor stage on which the printing plate precursor is placed; a printing stage on which printed matter having a surface to be printed is placed and fixed; and an ink placement device including an ink holding unit that absorbs and holds the ink. The printing blanket is configured to be movable between an upper part of the printing plate precursor stage and an upper part of the printing stage and is also configured to move up and down perpendicular to the printing plate precursor stage or the printing stage. The printing plate precursor includes: a support; and a surface layer formed on the support and having at least a placement surface side made of an ink-phobic material. The placement surface of the printing plate precursor has an ink-phobic area that does not accommodate the ink and an ink-philic area that accommodates the ink. The ink-phobic area is formed by the surface layer, and the ink-philic area is formed by partially removing the surface layer. The ink placement device places the ink in the ink-philic area by bringing the ink holding unit into contact with the placement surface of the printing plate precursor."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 19, 2020, under International application No.PCT/JP2020/006497.
