MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611000276 A) filed by Indian Council Of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, on Jan. 2, for 'primer for detection of streptococcus equi subspecies equi (s. equi) .'

Inventor(s) include Kumar, Balvinder; and Manuja, Anju.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides method for detection of Streptococcus equi in a test sample which comprises step of performing isothermal amplification by RPA assay method of a test sample containing nucleic acid of Streptococcus equi with a set of primer, followed by step of performing an assay for detection of the amplified nucleic acids of Streptococcus equi with a labelled primer targeting eqbG gene of Streptococcus equi subsp. equi. The set of primer sequence comprises a forward primer sequence selected from SEQ ID No: 1, and SEQ ID No: 3 and a reverse primer sequence selected from SEQ ID No: 2, and SEQ ID No: 4. The assay for detecting the RPA amplified nucleic acids of Streptococcus equi comprises performing LFA with the labelled RPA/PCR primer sets."
