MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441028324 A) filed by National Institute Of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad, Telangana, on April 5, 2024, for 'preparation method for conjugates, lateral flow strip, and box detecting antibiotics in food sample.'
Inventor(s) include Sonu Gandhi.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a method of preparation of penicillin-bovine serum albumin (PEN-BSA) conjugate for detection of -lactam antibiotics in one or more spiked food samples through a fabricated lateral flow assay (LFA) strip comprising a sample pad; a conjugate pad imbibed with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) conjugated antibodies (AuNPs-Ab), a nitrocellulose membrane, wherein the nitrocellulose membrane is coupled to the conjugate pad and absorbent pad, with a test line and a control line containing synthesized PEN-BSA conjugate and a control line containing synthesized complementary antibodies against the synthesized PEN-BSA conjugate respectively, for showing color change on presence and absence of antibiotics in the food sample; and a box with a rectangular box body; a light source and an imaging device to analyse the optical image of the tested LFA strip; detect the presence of the -lactam antibiotics; generate a chart with RGB intensity; and transmit the generated chart."
