MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631032107 A) filed by Narula Institute Of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, on March 17, for 'predictive maintenance system using iot and digital twin system.'

Inventor(s) include Ms. Suseta Datta; Dr. Kishalay Bairagi; Dr. Parthasarathi De; and Mr. Diptayan Paul.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a Physics-Informed Digital Twin (PIDT) system for real-time predictive maintenance of industrial machinery. By integrating a multi-modal IoT sensor array with a Physics-Informed Neural Network (PINN), the system embeds governing physical laws, such as thermodynamics and structural mechanics, into its predictive models. This enables the detection of sub-clinical mechanical failures and provides highly accurate Remaining Useful Life (RUL) estimations. The framework includes an edge gateway for low-latency data processing and an autonomous actuation module that adjusts machine parameters to prevent catastrophic failure. The system effectively overcomes the limitations of traditional data-driven AI, reducing false alarms and extending asset longevity."
