MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547096900 A) filed by Koninklijke Philips N. V., Eindhoven, Netherlands, on Oct. 8, for 'predicting effective energy values.'

Inventor(s) include Daerr, Heiner; Schnellbacher, Nikolas David; Poudel, Prabal; and Tsanda, Artyom.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Proposed concepts thus aim to provide schemes, solutions, concept, designs, methods and systems pertaining to training a neural network model for predicting an effective energy value of a conventional CT image. In particular, embodiments aim to utilize mono-energetic CT images from spectral scanners, of which the effective energy values are known, in order to train a neural network model which can then be used to predict an effective energy value of a conventional CT image, i.e. typically not mono-energetic."

The patent application was internationally filed on Apr. 02, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/058853.
