MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517090320 A) filed by Spark Therapeutics, Inc., Philadelphia, on Sept. 22, for 'ppt1 gene therapy.'

Inventor(s) include Alam, Suhail; Biferi, Maria, Grazia; Cohen, Daniel; Evans, James, Perry; Khatiwada, Apeksha; Mcbride, Jodi; and Ramsburg, Elizabeth.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention features PPT1 polypeptides and encoding nucleic acid constructs. Uses of the polypeptides and encoding nucleic acid constructs include producing PPT1 polypeptides, increasing PPT1 activity in a subject; and treating a PPT1 related disorder, such as CLN1 disease in a subject."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 19, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/020571.
