MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020153 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 18, 2024, for 'ppf (paint protection film) sheet application assistive device for vehicles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A PPF (Paint Protection Film) sheet application assistive device for vehicles, comprising a rectangular plate 1 with handle 2 for user to access, push- button 3 activates/deactivates the device, imaging unit 4 captures images of vicinity of plate 1 to determine model of the vehicle, multiple primary hinge joints modulates shape of the plate 1, a speaker 6 notifies the user to provide linear motion to plate 1, ultrasonic sensor detects thickness of sheet, pressure sensor detects pressure applied by the user, LiDAR sensor detects presence of air bubbles, a secondary motorized hinge joint 7 deploys attached flap 8 to extend, ball and socket joint 9 provides multi-axis movement, electronic nozzle 10 sprays water over the sheet, level sensor detects level of water in the chamber."
