MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517094644 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on Oct. 1, for 'ppdu-based communication method and apparatus.'

Inventor(s) include Gong, Bo; Gan, Ming; Liu, Chenchen; Hua, Meng; and Li, Feng.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A PPDU-based communication method and apparatus, which are applied to a wireless local area network system that supports 802.11 series protocols such as next-generation WiFi protocols of IEEE 802.11ax, e.g. 802.11be, Wi-Fi 7or EHT, and the next generation of 802.11be, e.g. Wi-Fi 8, and can also be applied to a UWB-based wireless personal local area network system, a sensing system, etc. The method comprises: a first communication apparatus generating a PPDU, and sending the PPDU; and correspondingly, a second communication apparatus receiving the PPDU, and processing the PPDU on the basis of an index value of a pilot sub-carrier, wherein the PPDU comprises a pilot sub-carrier and a data sub-carrier, and a signal modulus of the pilot sub-carrier is greater than a signal modulus of the data sub-carrier. By means of the method, the accuracy of demodulation performed by a second communication apparatus is effectively improved."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 14, 2024, under International application No.PCT/CN2024/081581.
