MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514080375 A) filed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on Aug. 25, 2025, for 'power unit mount structure.'
Inventor(s) include Masatomo Nishizaka; and Shun Ito.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "It is to provide a power unit mount structure capable of, at a vehicle collision, 5 rearward moving a power unit being inclined to thereby prevent the power unit from coming into contact with a component disposed therebehind within an engine room. [Solution] A bracket structure 20 includes a first bracket 21 and a second bracket 22. A vibration-proof bush 12 is formed in a cylindrical shape with a bolt through-hole 12B 10 extending in a vehicle width direction, and is supported by a bush bolt 22C. This bolt passes through, with the vibration-proof bush 12 being sandwiched between a rear end portion of the first bracket 21 and a rear end portion 25 of the second bracket 22, the second bracket 22 and the bolt through-hole 12B to thereby be fastened to the first bracket 21. Between second bolts 22A, 22B and the bush bolt for the second bracket, 15 the second bracket is formed with a fragile portion 23 to bend with an impact force of predetermined value or more inputted from a vehicle front side, so as to buckle the second bracket in a vehicle front-rear direction."
