MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514062107 A) filed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on June 30, 2025, for 'power transmission device for hybrid vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Daisuke Naka; Yuya Ikuta; Hideto Ando; and Yudai Nakane.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "To provide a power transmission device (4) for a hybrid vehicle capable of improving a degree of freedom of disposition of an actuator (43) that operates a release 5 member (36). [Solution] The power transmission device (4) for a hybrid vehicle includes a wet clutch (25) that can connect and disconnect transmission of power between an internal combustion engine (1) and a transmission (3), a drive gear (12) and a driven gear (27) that transmit 10 power between a motor generator (2) and the transmission (3), a release mechanism (36) that connects and disconnects the wet clutch (25), and an electric motor (43) that operates the release mechanism (36), and the release mechanism (36) moves in a direction of a rotation central axis (C1) of the wet clutch (25) by turning with the rotation central axis (C1) of the wet clutch (25) as a rotation center, to connect and disconnect the wet clutch 15 (25). A link mechanism (41) having a rod (47) is disposed between the electric motor (43) and the release mechanism (36), and the link mechanism (41) converts power of the electric motor (43) into motion in a turning direction of the release mechanism (36)."
