MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517051807 A) filed by Tosoh Corporation, Yamaguchi, Japan, on May 29, for 'powder.'
Inventor(s) include Hasegawa Yuusuke; Hosoi Kouhei; Nagayama Hitoshi; Tsuchiya Satoshi; Fukiage Taku; Kawamura Kenta; Itou Akiko; and Sugawara Ryou.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides at least either of: a powder from which it is possible to obtain a zirconia sintered body that contains manganese as a main coloring element, that is black, that has high destruction toughness, and that exhibits less variability in color tone caused by fluctuations in the sintering temperature; and a method for manufacturing the powder. A powder according to the present disclosure contains: a zirconia which includes yttrium as a stabilizing element; a manganese compound; and alumina. The contained amount of the stabilizing element expressed as an oxide is not less than 1.3 mol% but less than 2.0 mol% with respect to the total amount of the zirconia and the stabilizing element expressed as an oxide. The contained amount of the alumina is 0.2-1.5 mass% with respect to the total amount of the powder. The contained amount of the manganese compound is 0.1-0.6 mass% with respect to the total amount of the powder."
