MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517049074 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on May 21, for 'pouch-type secondary battery.'

Inventor(s) include Park, Eun Suk; Kim, Sang Hun; Yu, Hyung Kyun; and Lee, Jae Ho.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pouch-type secondary battery according to the present invention comprises: an electrode assembly; a pouch-type case comprising an accommodation part for accommodating the electrode assembly and a sealing part for sealing the accommodation part; an electrode lead connected to the electrode assembly and protruding outside of the pouch-type case via the sealing part; a lead film disposed between the electrode lead and the pouch-type case; and a gas-inducing part disposed between the electrode lead and the lead film. The gas-inducing part comprises a first layer in contact with the lead film. The first layer comprises a polymeric film having a storage modulus ranging from 30 MPa to 650 MPa measured at 100 C."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 24, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/019082.
