MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517064507 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on July 7, for 'pouch film laminate and secondary battery.'
Inventor(s) include Song, Dae Woong; Hwang, Soo Ji; Kang, Min Hyeong; Shin, Ji Hyun; and Kim, Gi Woung.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The pouch film laminate according to the present invention comprises a base layer, a gas barrier layer, a first sealant layer, and a second sealant layer, which are sequentially laminated, wherein the elastic modulus of the first sealant layer is greater than the elastic modulus of the second sealant layer. As the elastic modulus of the first sealant layer is adjusted to be greater than the elastic modulus of the second sealant layer, when tensile stress is applied to a sealing portion of a pouch-type battery case manufactured from the pouch film laminate, deformation due to the tensile stress is distributed to the second sealant layer rather than concentrated on the first sealant layer, thereby achieving high seal strength compared to the prior art."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 29, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/001358.
