MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517058956 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on June 19, for 'pouch cell and method for manufactu ring the same.'
Inventor(s) include Hwang, Soo Ji; Song, Dae Woong; Kim, Sang Hun; Yu, Hyung Kyun; and Kang, Min Hyeong.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a pouch cell capable of preventing a crack from occurring in a bridge part of a pouch due to a gas generated during a charge or a discharge process, and a method of manufacturing the pouch cell. A pouch cell manufacturing method according to the present invention includes step (a) of molding a pouch film including a metal layer so that a pair of cup parts, which can accommodate an electrode assembly, are formed in the pouch film and positioned at both sides of a bridge part, wherein in step (a), the pouch film can be molded to satisfy an expression of T/D 0.006, where the thickness of a metal layer of the bridge part after molding is T mm and the depth of the cup parts is D mm."
