MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104614 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'posture detection chair system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A posture detection chair system comprising a network of sensors 101 integrated with a seating platform configured to collect real-time data related to a user's posture, a data processing module 102 configured to analyze the real-time sensor data using computer vision modules and machine learning models, a posture classification module 103 employing a YOLOv5-based model to classify posture into good or bad categories, and an output interface configured to provide a Boolean indication of the user's posture status, the system detects and notifies users of poor posture to aid in improving ergonomic health, the posture classification module 103 uses YOLOv5 for real-time detection and classification of user posture."
