MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065812 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on July 10, for 'positive electrode active material, positive electrode and lithum secondary battery comprising the same, and method for manufacturing positive electrode active material.'
Inventor(s) include Han, Gi Beom; Park, Kang Joon; Lee, Youshin; Lee, Jaeyoung; Park, Sin Young; and Park, Byungchun.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The positive electrode active material according to the present invention comprises a lithium-rich manganese-based oxide represented by chemical formula 1 below and a carbon material coating layer positioned on the surface of the lithium-rich manganese-based oxide and has a BET specific surface area of 1.0 m2/g to 2.0 m2/g. [Chemical formula 1] Lia[NibCocMndMe]O2, where 1.00 a, 0 = b = 0.53, 0 = c = 0.10, 0.47 = d = 1.00, 0 = e = 0.20, and M is at least one selected from the group consisting of Al, B, Co, W, Mg, V, Ti, Zn, Ga, In, Ru, Nb, Sn, Sr, and Zr."
