MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617005535 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Jan. 20, for 'positive electrode active material, and positive electrode and lithium secondary battery comprising same.'
Inventor(s) include Jo, Chi Ho; Park, Byung Chun; Kim, Jong Woo; Yoo, Tae Gu; Ju, Ji Young; and Yoo, Seung Su.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a positive electrode active material, and a positive electrode and lithium secondary battery comprising same, the positive electrode active material comprising: a single-particle type lithium nickel-based oxide having 50-75 mol% of Ni and doped with a doping element M1; and a coating layer formed on the single particle-type lithium nickel-based oxide and including a coating element M2, wherein AONc+d defined by formula (1) is 3.5 to 4.2, R defined by formula (2) is 0.5 or less, and a weight ratio of the doping element M1 to the coating element M2 (M1/M2) is 0.2 to 1.0."
