MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517055812 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on June 10, for 'positive electrode, lithium secondary battery including positive electrode, and method for manufacturing same.'

Inventor(s) include Koo, Dae Ryung; Joo, Mun Kyu; Kwon, Yo Han; Lee, Il Ha; Choi, Seong Won; and Chae, Jong Hyun.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a positive electrode comprising: a current collector; a positive electrode active material layer disposed on the current collector and including a positive electrode active material; and a transfer functional layer disposed on the positive electrode active material layer and including a complex represented by chemical formula 1, wherein the positive electrode active material is prevented from breaking so that the amount of gas generated can be reduced, and the efficiency of positive electrode hyperlithiation is increased so that excellent capacity and lifespan characteristics can be achieved. [Chemical formula 1] MaOb, where M comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of Fe, Mn, Co, Ti, V, Zr, and Ni, and satisfies 1.0=a=3.0 and 1.0=b=4.0."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 14, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/020689.
