MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010761 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'portable workpiece bending device.'
Inventor(s) include Shreshta Bandhu Rastogi.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable workpiece bending device, comprising a T-shaped frame 1, a handle 4 that is accessed by a user for gripping frame 1, a touch interactive display panel 5 for providing input regarding a user-desired angle at which a workpiece is to be bent, an extendable sliding unit 6 is assembled on second portion 3 that is utilized by user for accommodating workpiece, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 for determining dimension of accommodated workpiece for actuating sliding unit 6 to extend for positioning gripping unit 8 to grip over ends of the workpiece, and a hydraulically operated plunger 9 actuated by microcontroller to extend towards the workpiece for positioning a semicircular member 10 integrated on free end of plunger 9 in order to apply a force on a relevant portion of workpiece."
