MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020068 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'portable water filtration device for pipelines.'

Inventor(s) include Avinav Pathak; Sumika Jain; R. P. Agarwal; and Varun Bansal.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable water filtration device for pipelines, comprising a frame 1 positioned in proximity to an outlet of a pipeline, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 is installed on frame 1 for determining dimension of outlet, a ring 3 arranged on frame 1 by means of a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 4 for positioning ring 3 within the outlet and followed by actuation of an expandable pulley arrangement 5 integrated with the ring 3 to get expanded for accommodating ring 3 in outlet, a sieve 6 mapped within the ring 3 for filtering contaminants present in water, an ultrasonic sensor mapped on sieve 6 for monitoring deposition of contaminant, a motorized gripper 7 integrated on ring 3 for gripping and removing deposited contaminant from sieve 6 in order to prevent blockage of sieve 6, and a chamber 8 is integrated on rod 4 for storing removed contaminants within chamber 8."
