MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023502 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'portable vice for mechanical maneuvers.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable vice for mechanical maneuvers, comprising a cylindrical platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface of a workbench and adhered by plurality of suctions cups 4, a plate 2 arranged underneath the platform 1 by means of a hydraulic actuator 3 to accommodate a suitable portion of workbench, an imaging unit 5 installed on the platform 1 to determine height of user, a sleeve coupling arrangement 8 integrated with a circular disc 6 configured with a threaded rod 7 which is integrated on the platform 1 for adjusting height of the circular disc 6 to accommodate a work piece on the disc 6, plurality of clamps 9 arranged on disc 6 to accommodate the work piece tightly, a ball and socket joint integrated in between the threaded rod 7 and platform 1 for tilting the disc 6 as per the user-specified direction."
