MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006900 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'portable utensil holding device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Harvinder Singh; Aneesh Goyal; Charanjit Singh; Anuj; Deepash; Dr. Geetika Sharma; and Arsha Garg.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable utensil holding device, comprises of a rectangular frame 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, multiple suction cups 2 for affixing the rectangular frame 1, an extendable plate 3 having multiple flaps 4 for accommodating the utensils, a touch interactive display panel 5 for providing input regarding total number of utensils and type of utensils, a first sliding arrangement 6 for creating an ample amount of gapping, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module 7 for capturing multiple images, a laser projection unit 8 for highlighting the best suitable gap, a curve link 9 configured with multiple J-shaped members 10 for providing a barricading over the utensils, a motorized slider 11 for providing movement to the J-shaped members 10, multiple iris pores 12 for translating excess water, a collection chamber 13 for collecting the water, and a speaker 14 to notify the user."
