MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521131048 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 23, 2025, for 'portable smart climate resilient automated home farming system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ujwala Kshirsagar; and Dr. Asmita Dani.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a portable smart climate-resilient automated home farming system (100) and a corresponding method (200) for cultivating vegetables and sprouts in a controlled environment. The system (100) comprises an embedded control unit including an ATMEGA-32 microcontroller, an IoT communication module, a plurality of sensors configured to sense temperature, humidity, substrate moisture, door status and crop height, and a plurality of actuators for automated irrigation, fogging, lighting, ventilation, air purification and repellent dispensing. A relay driver board and multi-source power configuration enable low-power and uninterrupted operation. The method (200) includes initializing the control unit, sensing environmental parameters, processing data to determine optimal growth conditions, actuating farming operations, monitoring crop readiness, transmitting real-time notifications, and enabling staggered cultivation. The invention provides an energy-efficient, user-friendly and climate-resilient home farming solution."
