MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010056 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'portable resting assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sachin Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable resting assistive device, comprise of a pair of U-shaped extendable frames 1 utilize to position on a ground, a curved flexible member 3 is connected with the frame 1 via two bars 4 for allowing the user to accommodate back/head portion, a microphone 5 positioned on one of the frames 1 to give voice commands for stabilizing the frames 1 on the surface, a pair of rack and pinion gear arrangements 6 configured with frames 1 and equipped with a pair of pins 7 for translating the pins 7 to penetrate in the surface, an air compressor 9 paired with the member 3 for inflating the member 3, a pair of motorized pivot joints 10 configured between the frames 1 and bars 4 for tilting the member 3, and a pair of secondary motorized hinges 13 for deploying the flaps 11 to provide shade to the user."
