MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517066000 A) filed by Costruzioni Elettroniche Industriali Automatismi S.P.A. C.E.I.A. S.P.A., Arezzo, Italy, on July 10, for 'portable metal detector comprising a helical winding.'

Inventor(s) include Manneschi, Giovanni.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a portable metal detector (1) comprising: - a cylindrical support (7) made of dielectric material which has a general direction of extension that defines an axis (X) of the metal detector (1), the cylindrical support (7) having, between a first end (9) and a second end (10) of the cylindrical support (7), a diameter (D) in a plane normal to the axis (X) of the detector; and - an inductive sensor (5) comprising a winding (8) helically wound around the cylindrical support (7) from the first end (9) to the second end (10) of the cylindrical support (7) so as to form a helix, a pitch (P) of the helix being strictly greater than the diameter (D) of the cylindrical support (7)."
